As of today a new anti-spam service is in effect. The amount of spam coming into the server should be reduced by this technique for all to benefit.
After an email is rejected the first time and then resend, it will be excepted. Usually a mailserver retries to deliver the message within minutes, once excepted by the recipient the address is whitelisted.
Greylist is a technique to reduce spam by initially rejecting email the first time another mail server tries to contact the server. Real mail servers will re-try after a short delay, but those operated by spammers typically will not. Thus legitimate email still is delivered, but spam is not.
By default a list of addresses is whitelisted. Among those addresses are google, yahoo, amazon and others which have been verified.
